The Late Worm
A student of mine, Chun Chun, was musing on the topic of being late, and why it might be better than being early. This lead to the creation of the following poster, turning a traditional saying on its head:
Bossy Girl
About a year ago I started to become much more aware of the gender gap in my ICT classroom, and it is something I have written about since. At the moment I am working on a research task to look into the subject more, and whilst that is bubbling away I am keeping my eyes open for ways to engage girls. In this frame of mind, Sheryl Sandberg’s (COO at Facebook) quotation really captured my imagination: “I want every little girl who’s told she’s bossy, to be told instead she has leadership skills”. Having looked online for a poster, I ended up making my own, as I could not find anything good enough to print A3 Size. Put it up in your classroom, and maybe you can help your girls become leaders.
