Talking As Adults
Bossy Girl
About a year ago I started to become much more aware of the gender gap in my ICT classroom, and it is something I have written about since. At the moment I am working on a research task to look into the subject more, and whilst that is bubbling away I am keeping my eyes open for ways to engage girls. In this frame of mind, Sheryl Sandberg's (COO at Facebook) quotation really captured my imagination: "I want every little girl who’s told she’s bossy, to be told instead she has leadership skills". Having looked online for a poster, I ended up making my own, as I could not find anything good enough to print A3 Size. Put it up in your classroom, and maybe you can help your girls become leaders.
